Disability and Inclusion Coordinator

Prerana, a social development NGO, working in the field of women’s rights, physical rehabilitation and inclusive education are looking for experienced and qualified candidates for Disability and Inclusion Coordinator for the SAHAYATRA project (being implemented in Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, and Sarlahi district) in partnership with VSO, Nepal.

Qualifications/ Skills and Responsibilities

  • The disability and Inclusion Coordinator will be responsible for the capacity building of consortium members and project stakeholders in the disability and inclusion theme. She/he will take a lead in overseeing and delivering the project interventions ensuring high-quality results within the stipulated timeframe with available resources. She/he will maintain regular coordination, communication with the project team, line agencies and will be responsible to support implementing partner in developing AIP, DIP, project implementation guidelines, education materials and enhance the capacity of field staff on project interventions. 
  •  He/she will have a proactive, innovative, original, and enthusiastic handling of her/his duties, with a result-oriented approach, familiar with a school system in Nepal, and minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social science or related university degree from a recognized University (Master’s degree preferable), At least three (3) years of work experience; experience in inclusive education project management level in a related field, able to travel and spend time in the Project Districts all community areas, able to communicate effectively in Local Language, experience with and understanding of child protection and safeguards while working with children and vulnerable groups is required.
  • Strong English communication skills required for the role and will be tested at interview, ability to work at pace across multiple work streams, strong facilitation and people management skills, excellent ability to work across cultures, time zones and disciplines with a wide range of stakeholders, sensitive to GBV/child protection and child safeguarding issue, good computer skills
