Techsoup

TechSoup is going to conduct a webinar session on Democratizing Access to Data. Grassroots organizations need data about their communities to inform their work, measure their progress, and identify places where their constituents are not represented. Google’s Data Commons helps to fulfill this need by making public data an accessible and usable resource. It gathers hundreds of thousands of statistical variables from thousands of data sets and hundreds of sources into a repository that can be queried through a natural language interface.

Learn more about TechSoup’s instance of Data Commons, which features topic pages on food security and climate change in the U.S., economic and social growth in Colombia, and the development landscape in Nigeria. We'll also demonstrate what’s possible when pulling in data from other sources, as illustrated by our partner in Mexico, which explored the relationship between hunger and gender.
