REED Nepal

REED Nepal has been established in year 2000 as an NGO with the motto "quality education our commitment". It was established to consolidate the Teacher Training Programmers carried out by the Himalayan Trust New Zealand (also known as Hillary Himalayan Trust NZ). REED-Nepal has been following the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary in the Mount Everest Region and the Himalayan region since its establishment. In the past REED Nepal worked in Myagdi, Rasuwa Humla, Kapilvastu and Parsa districts of Nepal and now it has been working in Solukhumbu, Taplejung, Khotang, Sindhupalchok, Palpa, Kapilvastu, Rupandhehi, Dolpa, Okhaldunga, Dhading Bajhang, Sindhuli, and Kavre and other fourteen earthquake affected districts of Nepal.


REED Nepal has been working to ensure quality education in community schools of the remote part of the Nepal with the principle of collaboration and coordination in the local level. Annually, REED-Nepal works with 900 schools, over 4000 teachers, 85000 students and thousands of community members over the mountainous region. REED-Nepal works with a holistic approach for ensuring quality inclusive education along with child protection, Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI), DRR, WASH, Environment & Climate Change Adaptation Livelihood, and Skill Development. The organization works to empower teachers, head teachers, child clubs, school management committees/parents' teachers’ association, parents, families, youth clubs, women groups, and community members.
