About this program
Learn about the Disability Belongs’™ Leadership Program, a professional development and mentorship initiative specifically for disabled people looking to enter or re-enter the workforce. This session will highlight how universal design principles, one to one mentorship, skill-based learning, community building, and advocacy training can support passionate young professionals and empower them to be change-making leaders in the workplace.
This program will enable you to
- Apply basic tenets of universal design to create an inclusive remote professional development program.
- Understand the importance of workplace accommodations and how to support accommodation requests
- Identify the main challenges people with disabilities face when entering the workforce
- Develop policies, practices, and programs that can support disabled professionals in acquiring and retaining employment.
